New York Islanders Daily: Trying To Trade A Forward

Instead of making a coaching change it appears the New York Islanders are instead trying to make a trade in order to get back on track.
One of the main issues with the New York Islanders has been there offense, or lack there of. They are only averaging just 2.5 goals per game, which isn’t enough to keep themselves a float in the very competitive Metropolitan Division.
Andy Graziano believes the Islanders are looking for forwards help, but he doesn’t want them to give up a young prospect. He thinks the Isles should hold on to Mathew Barzal, Joshua Ho-Sang, Michael Dal Colle, Ryan Pulock and Anthony Beauvillier as they are the Islanders future.
Instead he looks to young current NHL players who have possibly stunted in their growth. Ryan Strome, Brock Nelson and Anders Lee should all be available in his mind while their value is still high.
Maybe the Islanders can move Jaroslav Halak as well? There goalie situation is pretty messed up these days. J.F. Berube hasn’t even been dressing as the backup and Thomas Greiss just sits.
There’s probably a reason why other teams don’t do the three goalie thing. Regardless a trade is necessary for sure, although I would be willing to part ways with a prospect if the right trade presented itself.
The Islanders prospect pool is deep enough where it wouldn’t set their farm system back one bit. The NHL on ice product is the biggest concern, they have to address this first before worrying about prospects who are still a couple years away.
A player is not mentioned on the receiving end of the deal, but you can leave it up to your imagination as to who the Isles may target. Your guess is as good as mine.

The NHL is looking to possibly make changes to the shootout. If they do would it impact the Islanders? They already lost their best shootout weapons in Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo.
