New York Islanders Daily: Finally Comeback In The Third Period
The New York Islanders finally flipped the switch and came back to win in the third period after trailing after two periods for the first time all year.
The New York Islanders have been a very poor third period team all year. It’s been abundantly clear even if you’re a casual fan of this team.
During the game Isles Blog said something interesting that stuck out. Up until tonight the Isles were 0-12-2 when trailing after two periods. They finally came back to win in the third period last night.
They picked a wonderful time to break that unlucky streak as well, it was a huge game in the playoff race as both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Islanders are fighting for playoff positioning.

Luckily the Isles came away with two big points.
It was good to see Brock Nelson and Ryan Strome contribute so much in this Islanders win. They’re starting to heat up of late and the talent we know is there is beginning to show.
If the two of them could figure out how to do it on a consistent basis the Islanders would be in business. Andrew Ladd and Josh Bailey looked good as well, the two veterans are contributing nicely.
The secondary scoring is definitely there, just need a better effort defensively. Luckily the resilient forwards carried the team tonight.
