New York Islanders Have Three Options At Deadline
Do It For Tavares
With the Islanders on titering either in or out of the playoffs, it’s time for Garth Snow to make that impactful trade and get a true elite NHL winger to play alongside his all-star center.
The trade market might be advantageous for sellers rather than buyers, but the Islanders have enough depth and value in the lineup to trade up.
And with the expansion draft looming ominously over NHL teams heads, now might be a good time to not only get an asset that can push the needle forward but also sort out the do-or-don’t-expose list.
Tavares has certainly proven that he’s deserved the team to pay up a bit to get him the support he needs.
So whether it’s a top pair D, a first round prospect, a draft pick and a partridge in a pear tree, for Matt Duchene. Or someone that has yet to be made available.
Garth Snow should made the move now and let the two gel so that 2017-18 can be the year of the cup. Or at least long playoff run.
