New York Islanders Daily: Long Road Trip Continues In Edmonton

The New York Islanders continue their long road trip continues with a pit stop in Edmonton tonight. Are the Isles starting to tire out?
For the first time in franchise history, the New York Islanders hit the road for a nine-game trip. Although some would think it’s justified to complain about the trip, others point out that it isn’t actually so awful.
Peter Botte of the Daily News writes how the Islanders fans actually have nothing to complain about. In fact, he draws a few comparisons to road trips from other teams in recent years.
First is the Vancouver Canucks in 2010. When they hosted the Olympics they had to play 14 games in a row on the road! They would go on to win eight of those games and also their division as well.

Next up on the comparison list is the San Antonio Spurs, sure a different sport but the comparison remains the same, extended road trip time.
Certainly, the Islanders aren’t the same team at home as they are on the road? Maybe that’s why I’m lashing out at this seemingly unfair schedule. It’s a mix of a few things really, but as a fan frustration is certainly a justifiable feeling.

The Isles looked to be feeling the effects of an extended road trip when they are currently a good team away from their own building.
