New York Islanders legend Mike Bossy said he would make some changes to the game although the players are in much better shape.

Mike Bossy was a New York Islanders legend and is respected around the league. So when asked what he would change about the league people will listen to what he has to say.

Bossy brings up how the game can be boring to watch at times. Saying “A lot of times, it’s just like a pinball game.”

He’s got a fair point but how would the league go about fixing this? Bossy cites a basketball comparison in order to improve the game. He wants them to add a key so that there would be a way to call illegal defenses.

It’s interesting to see an “Old Time Hockey Guy” with such a different opinion. In most cases, they’re unwilling to change the game they know and love. Sometimes it’s for the better, as for Bossy’s idea it’s certainly interesting.

I’ve never thought of it that way before but it would certainly get the league to get away from the blocked shots movement. When asked about making power plays 4-3 and other ideas to increase scoring Bossy laughed them off.
