The Islanders travel to Maddison Square Garden, a while five miles to play against the Rangers who are .500 in the month of March. With a loss last night to the Devils maybe luck isn’t on our side.

Who needs luck anyways? The New York Islanders can get by just fine without lady luck. Although she was kind to us with losses for both the Florida Panther and the Tampa Bay Lightning last night.

Although a loss for Florida meant a win for Carolina who is all of a sudden right there with the other group of playoff hopefuls, including the Isles. So I suppose that’s a wash in the grand scheme of things.

And look the Rangers aren’t even that good at home anyways. That 19-15-3 record isn’t scaring anyone. Although the Isles road record of 13-16-5 should at least give the boys food for thought.

More from Eyes On Isles

Nope. Forget that nonsense. The Isles just came off a franchise-record nine game road trip where they went 5-3-1. Against some of the best teams in the league! We make our own luck!

But then again, not having to face Henrik Lundqvist is always a good thing. Although his .913 SV% and a 2.65 GAA to his name this season sure makes it appetizing as an opposition.

But hey backups aren’t always great! Right? (Then I remember that Thomas Greiss was a backup). Antti Raanta? He can’t be that good if he’s just a backup? Wait. He has a .920 SV% and a 2.32 GAA?

Great. Thanks, lady luck. You’ve gone and done us no favors at all. So you know what. No luck is needed. Like I said. The Isles will create their own luck tonight and hand the Rangers their Second back-to-back losses in the span of nine days!
