TSN through their two cents in on how they think the New York Islanders will handle things with their captain as the summer approaches.

There always seems to be some rumor with the New York Islanders captain John Tavares leaving as he nears the end of his deal. Even though he’s said he is going to stay on numerous occasions, it’s always a story.

Here’s what TSN said yesterday

I agree with one part of this, that the Islanders will get something done in June with him and we’ll hear about it on July 1st. The part I disagree with is when they mention the Islanders trading Tavares.

I do not see the Isles trading Tavares under any circumstances. That would come as a complete shock.

Even if both sides struggles to reach an agreement, I think the Islanders would try like hell to get something done during next season or before he hits the open market. The Isles without Tavares is a scary thought and I think the Islanders know that.

The Isles have difference makers in Bridgeport (Eyes on Isles)

And his name is Ryan Pulock! Will Pulock get a chance late in the season? One of our guys thinks he should.
