As the New York Islanders trailed their crosstown rivals in the second period their head coach gave a fiery interview with NBCSN.

So through two periods, the New York Islanders look pretty flat in the biggest game of the year. Thomas Greiss, Josh Ho-Sang, Anthony Beauvillier and Anders Lee seem to be the only one who made the trip into MSG for the game.

Doug Weight‘s frustrations boiled over in his interview with NBCSN:

There’s not much I like about the Islanders game tonight, but this stands out as the lone highlight on the Islanders side. I love this about Weight.

He isn’t afraid to speak his mind and say when his team isn’t performing up to par. Plus there were no mentions of puck luck or any form of hockey Gods, so that’s a positive.

Weight used actual facts as to why his team was failing. He pointed out the Islanders being outshot for instance.

His “sleepy sleepy” line was too funny. Laugh out loud stuff from the man who holds it down behind the bench. Plus his two points to the ice after clearly showing frustration with his team’s nine turnovers was electric.

Weight better be ripping the Islanders in the dressing room before the third period starts. The Isles are about to begin the biggest period of the year, they need this game.
