The New York Islanders travel to Pittsburgh tonight. Hopefully, they can all return with ten fingers and ten toes.

Be on the look out New York Islanders. Count your fingers, count your toes, watch your ears and watch your nose. Sidney Crosby‘s coming. And his stick’s ready for some choppin’!

I feel that’s a great song for traveling Islanders fans tonight. Sing it to whatever tune you’d like. You’re welcome.

It’s a nice precautionary tale after Crosby’s antic from last night’s game in Ottawa. Has anyone found the tip of Methot’s finger that’s missing? It should probably be put on ice so it can be reattached.

(If you didn’t see this last night I warn those that are a bit squeamish, this might be upsetting).

The worst part of the video isn’t Methot’s bloody finger, but Crosby’s reaction as Methot approaches him immediately afterward. He’s sooo annoyed! Like he’s been wronged in some way.

I’m sorry Sidney, let’s count how many bloody fingers you have? None. You also blatantly slashed another player. Whatever he was thinking there, that’s a two-minute penalty. A penalty that Crosby didn’t get by-the-way.

Twice in Two Games

That’s twice in two games that Crosby gets “creative” with his stick. Two nights before, this time in Buffalo. Crosby introduced his stick to Ryan O’Reilly‘s nether regions for no apparent reason.

Crosby also didn’t get a penalty on that play. You can see the referee is there in the corner looking at the Sabres forward trying to create a scoring chance. Crosby comes from behind and gives O’Reilly a how-do-you-do to the family jewels.

So while the Isles look for that mandatory two points tonight, and if they want to keep all of their digits for tomorrow’s date in Boston, they should also be on the lookout for any creative stick work from last generations generational player.
