The New York Islanders have their backs up against the walls against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in Philadelphia. A clear must win game.

I know, I know, no duh this is a must win game for the New York Islanders. We have to talk about it nonetheless. The Isles have fallen four points behind the Boston Bruins and also the Tampa Bay Lightning now too.

They have their backs up against the wall. Here’s what Doug Weight had to say:

“We’ve got to win a game against a real good team, a hungry team that now thinks they have a chance, too. It’s a fun scenario. I expect a lot from our group.’’

What else is Doug going to say? Although his “I expect a lot from our group”  line is a bit odd. In two of the biggest games of the year the Isles no showed, at home no less.

I guess I just want to see the firey Doug. The one who was yelling at Pierre McGuire during an interview! That’s the Dogie Isles fans know and love. The Isles need a major change in their gameplay if they want to have a shot. Maybe a road game in Philly can light a fire?
