Garth Snow: Pros and Cons to Another Year as Islanders GM

Ownership Likes Him
At least one of the minority owners is a big fan of Garth Snow. Charles Wang is a big fan. He kept Garth in the spot for years, even after the Isles failed to perform.
Maybe it was guilt that made Charles keep Garth Snow in the GM’s position. Maybe the fact that Wang spent seemingly the bare minimum on the team that he felt bad for Garth.
Garth just seems to have a way to speak with the wealthy owners and have them come around to his way of thinking. It’s an impressive skill to have.
Maybe this year he comes up with a good excuse to justify why this team regressed significantly over last year. Maybe he can parlay his free-agency fluff as somehow not his fault in the slightest.
Maybe he convinces the ownership that keeping three goaltenders was a good idea and that it was all Alan Walsh’s fault that two of his three shot-stoppers have completely underperformed.
After years of Garth Snow behind the scenes, it would be par for the course if he finds a way get his way out of this one. Who would replace him anyways?
