Calls up Pulock

He’s got a howitzer of a shot. Just like Johnny Boychuk. Boychuk was out for almost a month missing twelve games with injury why not call him up then? He’s healthy and isn’ learning much in the AHL. Just putting up points.

In those twelve games, the Islanders went 4/32 or 12.5% in that period where Boychuk was out. The Isles power play looked feckless and unable to create any sort of offense.

It’s not that Pulock would turn the Isles power play from worst to first overnight. But he’d certainly be a good option to spark the offense. The options the Isles were using then certainly weren’t working.

Why keep Scott Mayfield on the roster if he can’t help the Islanders? Pulock’s just putting up points in the lower league. To the tune of 43  points in 50 games.

I’ve been told that this a dangle the carrot situation. The dangle the carrot was not calling him up when Boychuk was healthy, the injury was time to reward Pulock’s performance in Bridgeport with a call-up. Not to play mind games.
