New York Islanders Daily: Early Criticism Of The Owners

Jon Ledecky and Scott Malkin have owned the New York Islanders for almost a year. Is the criticism warranted or is it too early to criticize?
October of 2014 it was announced that both Malkin and Ledecky were going to buy the New York Islanders. They officially took over before the start of this past year and have taken a lot of heat. The question is; is it justified criticism?
Leslie Monteiro writes how the new owners are exactly the same of owners past because they don’t hold guys accountable. Essentially, the decision to bring back Doug Weight means that Garth Snow will return which also means that the owners aren’t holding Snow responsible for missing the playoffs.
The lack of accountability in this franchise is certainly frustrating but, I’m not ready to jump fully on board with hating these owners.

It’s tough for me to preach patience during an 11-year rebuild but something in me says give it time with them. This narrative that the owners don’t care is naive in my opinion.
It’s not that they don’t care, they’ve actually spent a great deal of time trying to get to know people in the organization. Plus Ledecky was at nearly every game this year. He’s dedicated.
Do I agree with Snow returning? No, but this isn’t an absentee owner situation.
