WFAN talk show host Craig Carton firmly believes the New York Islanders are headed to Belmont. Let’s investigate the situation at hand.

On the newly ranked number one radio show in New York, Craig Carton of Boomer and Carton claimed that he has learned the New York Islanders are headed for the racetrack. This would be the Islanders second relocation in recent years.

“Barring a last-ditch change, because like I said this is not 100 percent … they are dotting I’s and crossing T’s … there will be a new arena built on the Belmont Park track site that will house the Islanders in the future,” Carton said.

Carton went on to say that the new coliseum, the Citi Field area and Belmont were the three options the Isles considered in their relocation plan. Which was made pretty clear by the Bloomberg articles that surfaced earlier this year.

I’m gonna have to say “I’ll believe it when I see it.” I don’t know what to believe anymore when it comes to these relocation rumors. It’s not that I don’t trust Craig’s information it very likely could happen.

It’s more of me not having faith that the Isles have a legit plan of attack on their arena situation. It’s still a waiting game, so get comfortable.

It’s gonna be a stressful offseason isn’t it…
