4. Billy Smith (371 points)

What’s not to like about Billy Smith? He played an aggressive style of, stopped a ton of rubber and backstopped the Isles to four back-to-back cups. In 17 seasons with the Islanders Smith averaged a 3.16 GAA and a .882 SV%. Great numbers for the era he played in, where seven goals in a game was an average night.

Getting Smith fourth overall in the 1972 expansion draft was a stroke of genius by then GM Bill Torrey.
