New York Islanders Daily: Teammate Praises Anthony Beauvillier

The New York Islanders rookie Anthony Beauvillier had some positives and some negatives during his first year in the league. He received some high praise from a teammate.
Having a nineteen-year-old on the roster is a huge risk. The New York Islanders accepted this risk with Anthony Beauvillier when they kept him past his nine-game trial period. Overall it was a pretty successful year for Beau.
Cory Wright took a look back at his season. Some moments that stood out for Beau this year was his backhanded goal against Pittsburgh and his amazing homecoming in Montreal.
His coach Doug Weight thought that he improved as the season wore on. I could definitely see that. As the season wore on he definitely looked more comfortable, I also was a big fan of Doug Weight keeping him in the lineup every night.

His end numbers at the end of the year don’t necessarily jump off the page at you, nine goals and 15 assists (24 points). But that didn’t stop his captain from singing his praise:
“He’s going to be a real cornerstone of this team for a long time.”
That’s a pretty nice compliment from John Tavares. I certainly got that idea when I saw Beau play alongside Josh Ho-Sang. The two had some chemistry together and maybe they could be potential linemates in 2016-2017. Maybe put Mathew Barzal between them? Now I’m just dreaming.
