You would think with Chimmer’s 20 goal season that one of them would’ve come on the power play. But, 19 of his goals were at even strength while just one goal was a shorthanded goal.

The power play was something the Islanders struggled terribly with throughout the 2016-2017 season as they found themselves towards the bottom of the league in almost every important category.

Power Play Goals: 35 (28th)

The Islanders are going to have to address these struggles in the offseason so that they can come back in 2017-2018 and have a punchers chance. 28th in the league ain’t cutting it if you want to be a playoff team.
