A Ton of Stops vs. Arizona by Greiss

The games against Colorado and Arizona after a league-mandated week long break were probably scheduled by Jack Capuano as wins. If they weren’t at the start of the season they certainly were as the season progressed.

Both West coast teams were terrible. So were the Isles, but they weren’t Colorado or Arizona bad. And with a week long break to get recharged. It should be the perfect time to get the season back on track with two wins.

Against Colorado, the Isles lost 2-1 in overtime. Against the worst team in the league. They put up a terrible performance as a team. They couldn’t win a faceoff and couldn’t hit anything.

Oh well, Arizona would be a better game. The Isles couldn’t practice or anything in that week long break so they needed the game to get back to shape.

Nope. Again, against Arizona, the Isles put up a stinker. Again losing 2-1 in overtime. If not for Greiss it could have been much worse.

At one point Greiss was almost quite literally standing on his head as the Coyotes buzzed, throwing shot after shot to his net while his teammates scrambled around him looking and hoping the puck could luckily fall to one of their sticks. (See 0:30 of the video).

If not for Greiss who knows how the season could have gone.
