1. New Jersey Devils

There seemed to be some debate whether it would be Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischier going first overall. We had Patrick going number one overall to the New Jersey Devils. He can play either center or right wing which makes him very versatile. In 33 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings he scored 20 goals with 26 assists (46 points). <a href=. C. Nolan patrick. 1. 85.

2. Philadelphia Flyers

68. . At number two we have the Switzerland native Nico Hischier heading to the Philadelphia Flyers. Hischier is a left-handed center who is expected to go either one or two. He put up an impressive 86 points in 57 games with his QMJHL team. He’s expected to be the highest taken Swiss born player, currently Nino Niederreiter owns that honor. He was taken 5th overall by the New York Islanders in 2010.. C. Nico Hischier. 2

3. Dallas Stars

C. Gabriel Vilardi. 3. 119. . Vilardi is a Kingston, Ontario native who’s game is described as a dangerous two-way center. This past year at the OHL level Vilardi put up 61 points with the Windsor Spitfires. In the Spitfires seven-game series loss against the London Knights Vilardi put up seven goals, very impressive.

4. Colorado Avalanche

4. 103. . We project Heiskanen to be the first defenseman taken off the board by the Avalanche at the four spot in the draft. Heiskanen is known for his skills at both ends of the rink. He put up five goals and 10 points for HIFK who plays in Finland’s Liiga league.. D. Miro Heiskanen

5. Vancouver Canucks

. Go figure we have the first Canadian team picking in this year’s draft taking the first American. Mittelstadt is a center/left wing who played with the Green Bay Gamblers. His 30 points in 24 games are good enough to get him in the Top five. He’s expected to play at the University of Minnesota next year.. C. Casey Mittelstadt. 5. 104
