2017 NHL Draft: Eyes on Isles First Round Mock Draft

21. Columbus Blue Jackets
22. Arizona Coyotes (via trade from Minnesota Wild)
RW. Kailer Yamamoto. 22. 121. . I think the Coyotes win the Martin Hanzal trade. The first round pick they got from Minnesota turned into Kailer Yamamoto. The 18-year-old American scored 99 points in 65 games for the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. Why so late for someone so prolific? He’s only 5’8″ and 159lbs.
23. Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks better hope they get similar production from Lind almost immediately, cause they need some cheap prolific players to round out that top heavy roster. In 70 games for the Rockets, Lind has scored 87 points in the regular season. He added another 12 points in the playoffs before being eliminated by Mathew Barzal’s Thunderbirds.. RW. Kole Lind. 23. 94.
24. Nashville Predators
151. . Another recent Le Mat Trophy winner from HV71, Brannstrom scored six points playing with men in the Swedish league. He’s a tough player and great at the whole “pucks-in-pucks-out” game. Why so late in the first round? He undersized at 5’11”. The Preds have a way of making great defensive players no matter the size. Ryan Ellis is only 5’10”.. D. Erik Brannstrom. 24
25. Ottawa Senators
91. . With 46 points in 65 games for Mississauga, Hague on the merit alone is a great prospect. Then consider the fact that he’s a defenceman. There’s no need to replace Erik Karlsson anytime soon, he’s only 26, but another high-scoring and free-skating defenceman is great to have. Oh, and he’s 6’6″ 214lbs to boot.. D. Nicolas Hague. 25
