2017 NHL Draft: Eyes on Isles First Round Mock Draft

26. St Louis Blues
99. . Yet another high-scoring defenceman. The 18-year-old amassed 61 points in 67 for the Greyhounds, and added another eight in eleven playoff games. He isn’t as big a Nicolas Hague, but at 6’1″ 181lbs he’s a solid individual. He skates well and has great vision. There’s isn’t anything to dislike.. D. Conor Timmins. 26
27. Edmonton Oilers
LW. Isaac Ratcliffe. 27. 148. . It feels different to see the Oilers not in a lottery position this year. But at the 27th pick they can still pick up a great player, and they do with Isaac Ratcliffe. With 54 points in 67 games, the big winger showed he has another side to his games that isn’t physical. But with a 6’5″ frame he will always be asked to use it.
28. New York Rangers
28. 95. . Is this a mistake? The Rangers have a first round pick? That hasn’t happened since 2012 when they selected Brady Skjei. With 51 points this year and 60 the year before, Comtois is a great player to add to that incredibly bare prospect cupboard.. LW. Maxime Comtois
29. Anaheim Ducks
. The 17-year-old exploded in his draft year with 60 points in 61 games for the US U18 team and added another 26 in 25 games for the US junior team. He had seven for the juniors last season and 27 for the U17. This could be good timing, or a hidden gem in this years draft.. C. Josh Norris. 29. 105
30. Pittsburgh Penguins
. The 17-year-old defenceman put up 48 points in his first year in a North American league. Spending much of his career at home in Finland. His adaptation was seamless. He’s a good size, he skates well, and seems the game just as well. He’s a perfectly rounded player to add to a team of super stars.. D. Henri Jokiharju. 30. 92
31. St Louis Blues (via trade from Washington Capitals)
31. 99. . Thomas plays for the coveted London Knights organization of the OHL. In 66 games this season he put up 66 points with 50 of those coming through the assist column. He’s a pass-first type of player with top-level vision and IQ. Pretty good return at 31 for a player (Shattenkirk) you weren’t going to be able to pay anyways.. C. Robert Thomas
