NHL Expansion Draft Eyes on Isles Picks Vegas Team

The NHL Expansion Draft is just over a month away, with offseason acquisitions already being made by some teams let’s pick a Vegas team before the landscape shift entirely once again.
Before we get into who we selected from every team for the NHL Expansion Draft, we wanted to go over some of the rules that Vegas has to conform to in selecting their team.
This doesn’t mean the rules that team has to adhere to when protecting players, but the requirements placed on Vegas and the team it creates.
To find all the rules go read this page at the NHL.com
- Vegas has to select a single player from all 30 NHL teams. Simple enough. But it gets increasingly more complex from here.
- They also have to select a minimum of 14 forward, nine defenseman and three goalies.
- Twenty of their 30 players must be under contract in the 2017-18 season. That means 20 of them don’t have to be.
- The team’s overall cap hit has to fall within 60% and 100% of the 2016-17 $73million salary cap ceiling.
They also can’t buy anyone they drafted in expansion within the first year, but that has no effect on what were doing.
Going division by division, here are our 30 picks that the Vegas Golden Knights will make in the NHL Expansion Draft.
