Montréal Canadiens

C. It might be weird seeing Plekanec in anything other than a Canadiens jersey but it may be a reality quite soon. As he creeps up there in age his offensive production has certainly slowed down. He had just 28 points this past year after 54 in the previous year, the Canadiens will likely have to leave him unprotected and Vegas will pounce on the “big name” despite potentially being on the decline.. Montréal Canadiens. . Tomas Plekanec

Ottawa Senators

D. The Senators might be forced to leave defenseman Marc Method unprotected and it would be wise for the Golden Nights to jump on this opportunity. They can find a solid veteran defenseman who’s had a positive +/- since 2012. He won’t give them much offensively but if you’re looking for a top 4 stay at home d-man look no further than Methot.. Ottawa Senators. . Marc Methot

Boston Bruins

. Jimmy Hayes. RW. Here’s a guy coming off a really bad year. He put up just five points in 58 games with Boston this year and will likely be exposed. Maybe Vegas selects him hoping he can find his game from 2014-2016 where he put up 64 points over the two-year span.. Boston Bruins

Toronto Maple Leafs

. Eric Fehr. C. Here’s another fourth line candidate for Vegas. But here’s the catch at a $2 million cap hit he might be appealing for Vegas who will be looking to fill out their roster with relatively cheap options. At this point, Fehr is a veteran depth guy but it might just be what Vegas is looking for from their Toronto pick in the NHL Expansion Draft.. Toronto Maple Leafs

Tampa Bay Lightning

Namestnikov is a defensive minded center who could be a solid choice for Vegas. He could likely center one of your middle six lines. As a former first round pick you’d like to see more from him offensively but at just 24 there is still some room for growth.. Tampa Bay Lightning. . Vladislav Namestnikov. C

Florida Panthers

LW. He didn’t want to move from Detroit, but here is on the move again. This time on his way to beautiful Las Vegas. Vanek wasn’t great with the Panthers, but with Detroit this year he was nearly a point per game player. And at his current, although expiring $1.3 million cap hit, Vegas takes a chance at a big name forward.. Florida Panthers. . Thomas Vanek

Detroit Red Wings

C. Sheahan had a terrible year in Detroit, although who didn’t outside of Thomas Vanek? With 13 points on the season, he hit a low never previously experienced in his brief NHL career. At 25-year-old and a previous 36 point campaign, Sheahan can slot into this Vegas team and immediately give them scoring depth.. Detroit Red Wings. . Riley Sheahan
