The New York Islanders pick 15th in this years NHL draft. There is some debate as to who will be available when it’s their turn on the clock.

If you follow our site you probably have seen our first round mock draft that we put up. In contrast today Arthur Staple did a mock draft of his own. We had the New York Islanders picking different people so today we will compare the two.

We had the Isles going with Nicholas Suzuki. Suzuki is a center who put up 96 points in the OHL this past year and many believe his stock is on the rise. Although his size is certainly in question at just five foot eleven and 183 pounds.

Lias Andersson is a center/left wing from Sweeden. He had 19 points through 42 games in the SHL. He apparently plays a strong two way game and has played all three forward positions making him versatile.

So it comes down to who would you rather have. I think the clear cut better player is Suzuki, but the question is if he will be available at 15. For reference Staple has him going 11 overall to the Los Angeles Kings.

In our draft we have Lias Andersson going 21st overall to the Columbus Blue Jackets. To me Andersson is more of a later round selection rather than smack dab in the middle. Even if Suzuki is off the board I think there are more talented players than Andersson that will be available.

If both are available Suzuki is the answer.
