The Forgotten Jerseys: 2007-10

These were the jerseys the team wore when I was still a season ticket holder at the Coliseum. So full disclosure, there’s some nostalgia to this ranking. But even with that, even I know there isn’t anything to this jersey.

Having only been worn for three letdowns seasons, New York Islanders fans tend to look away from these jerseys.

I am a big fan of the design myself, using the color scheme of the jerseys worn from 1998-2007, but also brought back some key features from the older jerseys that gave fans a friendly reminder of the team’s culture.

The four lined alternate logo was also another one of my favorite things about these jerseys, showing appreciation to their four Stanley Cup wins back in the early 1980s and inspired myself, being the curious eight-year old I was at the time, to go back and do research on our rich history.

As for myself, these jerseys bring back many memories. From when we drafted John Tavares, to the time where I met Doug Weight (who was my favorite player at the time) and got him to sign my jersey. These jerseys have a special place in my heart.
