New York Islanders Trade Targets for Every NHL Team

The New York Islanders have a few needs going into the 2017-18 NHL season. How can every team in the league help the Islanders? Here’s a look at Isles trade targets across all 29 teams.
Missing the playoffs was a disappointment for the New York Islanders. They were looking to push on and improve from last year’s second round playoff exit. But ultimately came up a single point short.
That sounds like the Islanders might have more than a single need, but if it wasn’t for a terrible start to the season the Isles might have just made the cut for the post-season.
After replacing long-term head coach Jack Capuano with Doug Weight the Islanders went 24-12-9 to escape the bottom of the Eastern Conference to the cusp of the playoffs.
If the Islanders need anything it’s a reinforced top six. After the Isles first line of John Tavares, Anders Lee and Josh Bailey, the gulf in talent and production widens significantly.
The Isles need a player that can slot in on the wing on either the top line or second line that can provide some offense.
Garth already tried to address that through free agency last year with the Andrew Ladd signature. That was an absolute disaster. But this year, to land the right player he’s going to have to make a trade.
Going through the team’s one-by-one alphabetically we’ll try to address this need. Again, shout out to Eyes on Isles Expert Matt O’Leary for helping put this list together.
