Montréal Canadiens

Drafted in 2012 third overall, Montréal took Galchenyuk to be their future number one center. Five years later and Galchenyuk is having a hard time breaking into the Habs top six.

He’s been false started year-after-year. He’s exactly what the Islanders can use as their second line center. Just pure offense.

There’s a reason this kid went third overall in the 2012 draft. He’s the highest scoring player in his draft class with 204 points in 336 NHL games. In 2016-17 he netted 44.

So why give so much for a player that scored less than Brock Nelson?

The way Galchenyuk can open up an opposition’s defense is something to see. His silky smooth hands allow him to create separation and space anywhere on the ice. Just go back and watch his highlights. Surronded with the right players and given the proper offensive role and he can truly become a force in the NHL.
