Vancouver Canucks

Ugh. The Vancouver Canucks are such a wasteland of hockey talent these years. Do you know that Josh Bailey had more points in 2016-17 than any other Canucks player? That includes both Sedin twins.

That’s how bad things have become from the back-to-back President’s Trophy winners to the bottom of the league within six years.

There isn’t much to pluck from the Canucks. The twins are still good, but they come in a set and ain’t no one got space for $14 million on the cap for two 36 year-olds.

Bo Horvat is the only good piece on this roster, and we all know he isn’t going anywhere. And even if he could be had, the price that Jim Benning is going to ask is going to be much too high for the type of asset the Isles would get in return.

Scott Mayfield, an ok NHL defenceman and a 4th round pick in this years draft should be more than enough to secure a player who’s career year is 35 points and is on the books for $1.85 million this season.
