Boston Bruins

The Bruins seems like a tough team to predict what they might want. In terms of firepower up front, they seem set.

With the explosive emergence of David Pasternak, the Bruins now have two elite level producers. Both he and Brad Marchand put up a combined 155 points.

On defense, the B’s aren’t going to move Charlie McAvoy unless they get a king’s ransom. Something the Isles aren’t going to give up for something they have in spades. Unless that Long Island narrative just becomes too much to ignore.

But with the aforementioned Pasternak up for a new deal they might not have the room to take on both he and Ryan Spooner. A 39 point producer going into his final RFA years.

Mayfield is a player the Isles don’t need, although the toughness-and-sandpaper crowd will file in left-right-and-center to disagree. Dal Colle is a forward prospect with a high ceiling and a ton of years under team control.

The Islanders get a top six forward that just entering the prime of his career and with a few years under team control as an RFA. The Isles might have to get clever with the cap to make it work. That’s where Mikhail Grabovski comes into play.
