The Vegas Golden Knights are open for business and the New York Islanders should capitalize to limit their exposure at the expansion draft.

The New York Islanders aren’t in a great position leading up to the NHL Expansion Draft. With a deep blueline and some good assets up top the Isles are going to lose someone pretty significant.

We already know that Vegas GM George McPhee is willing to make a deal with teams to either have him look the other way or tell him what player to take.

"“If they want to give us draft picks to encourage us to take a certain player or leave another player alone, we’re open-minded and we’re going to listen to everyone,”"

Heck, he could even be persuaded to draft a player for you. So long as the right compensation is in order the Vegas Golden Knights are open for business.

With the Islanders in the position that they are, how do they exit the draft with the players they want to keep while limiting the damage done by expansion? Or how can they leverage their position to get something out of the expansion draft?
