New York Islanders Don’t Make A Trade Before Roster Freeze

Garth Snow and the New York Islanders were unable to pull off a trade before the roster freeze at 3:00 pm today. A trade will have to wait.
Despite a week of rumors and speculation the New York Islanders stayed put and will have to wait to make a trade. Teams can only make moves now with Vegas, until the rosters unfreeze at 8:00 am on Thursday.
As you would’ve guessed Isles Twitter took it really well that the Islanders didn’t make a move:

Not surprised #isles did nothing before the trade freeze. Typical. #NHLExpansionDraft

You can back date this tweet to 2014 #isles https://t.co/Y6OZJPfNhZ

And those are only the “clean” tweets. So, that was rather uneventful wouldn’t you say? Wasted an entire Saturday refreshing twitter waiting for Garth Snow to get something done and he didn’t. I can’t say I’m too surprised, the Isles haven’t made a trade since they acquired Islanders legend Shane Prince from Ottawa.

To be fair, Garth has one more shot. He can make moves next week after the expansion draft and potentially on or before draft day. If Garth goes through the entire draft without making a move, then Isles Twitter truly have the right to riot.
