Number 2: Anders Lee (Round 6 Pick 152 2009)

Oh that 2009 draft class. What a diamond Lee was. Let’s give you some context to see how good of a pick Lee was. He has 84 career goals so far, the next closest from the sixth round of 2009 has 10. Yep, Anders is far and away the best player from that round.

Last year was Lee’s coming out party. He was a part of the Islanders underrated and underappreciated top line and he put 34 goals along the way.

During Lee’s first full year in the league he put up 25 goals which was a pretty solid number. Although in 2015-16 Lee took a step back only scoring 15 goals. It looked like his poor season would continue into this year as well.

He started slow out of the gate but really turned it on in the second half. Even if Lee never scores 30 goals again this would be a fantastic pick. Realistically, I see Lee as more of a 20-25 goal a year guy and that’s completely fine,

If Lee continues to give you anything close to what he put up offensively this past year it’ll be Garth’s second best pick of his tenure, and a darn tough one to beat.
