The New York Islanders have been quite since the free agency window opened. Even trade rumors have silenced. Their lineup might just be set for 2017-18. Here’s a way too early look at the Islanders lineup at forward.

The New York Islanders made one move this offseason. They sent Ryan Strome to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Jordan Eberle.

Ok, they also sent their first-round pick in the draft to the Vegas Golden Knights so they would take Jean-Francois Berube, a pending UFA that they would never sign, and the last year of Mikhail Grabovski’s $5 million contract.

We expected more. Rumblings had the Isles looking to add both Jordan Eberle and Matt Duchene to the roster. But for now, we wait until Delusional Joe Sakic lowers his offer for his 26-year-old centerman.

Going into 2017-18 the Isles might just have to turn to their youth players to fill up the roster. Good thing that the Islanders have some big name youth players in their ranks.

So, assuming no other roster changes are in order, as in trades or free agents, what does the New York Islanders forward lines look like?

Garth still has time to add players to the roster. Remember back in 2015 when he added both Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk in September. But for now, let’s get a way too early look at the forwards.
