The New York Islanders recently held their Fantasy Camp which featured a mic’d up Doug Weight which is everything you need on your Thursday.

The NHL Network had video from the New York Islanders fantasy camp because they had their own analyst E.J. Hradek there participating. Although the video is supposed to be about Hradek there was a diamond in the rough here.

Isles coach Doug Weight stole the show. Watch as he chirps all his players on the ice and even the referee:

Fantastic stuff from Dougie, he’s made it very difficult to find a fault of his so far as a coach of the Islanders. First, and most importantly, the team performed exponentially better with Weight behind the bench. His 24-12-4 record speaks for itself.

He’s shown his fire behind the bench in his first 40 games as a coach and it has seemed to transition into year two. The best part was him barking at the referee over penalty shots. It’s a fantasy camp, Dougie, calm down!

I’m very interested to see how the team responds to a full season of Weight behind the bench. Well, I hope you enjoyed the video today.

Editorial: Five RFA Trade Targets

The New York Islanders aim to improve their forward roster this summer. Fans agree a second line center would be ideal; but the Isles could also improve if they added a talented winger. There are plenty of skilled, un-signed players on the restricted free-agent (RFA) list.

Opinion: Nick Leddy Elite?

When the New York Islanders acquired Nick Leddy from the Chicago Blackhawks we knew we were getting something good. But just how good is he compared to the rest of the D-men in the league?
