New York Islanders Daily: Josh Bailey’s Latest Hot Streak

Josh Bailey is the New York Islanders point leader, so it’s no surprise that he’s the hottest producer on the team right now.
Before this past Thursday Josh Bailey didn’t have a goal for the New York Islanders since before Thanksgiving. He was still producing, he had nine assists over his 10 game goalless streak which is more than fine.
What changed on Thursday was Bailey being able to find the back of the net. Against the Blue Jackets Bailey recorded his first career hattrick. He followed that performance up with a goal against the Kings on Saturday night.
So in the last two games, Bailey has four goals, which is nearly a third of his goal total from last season. In fact, it’s been a while since Bailey has scored in back to back games. February fourth and sixth of 2017 was the last time he scored in back to back games.
With nine goals on the season through just 33 games, he has a good shot of breaking his career record of 16 goals. He’s on pace for 22 goals so far this year so he can even afford a slow down in production and still surpass his career high.
We all know of Bailey’s impressive 56 point season last year. His previous career high before last year was 41 points in 2014-2015. Josh Bailey is one point away from tying that number through just 33 games.
Forget about 56 points Bailey is going to give 75 points a run for its money this year. I only have one thing to say: Elite.
Isles Tweet Of The Day
After an epic rant by Doug Weight postgame last night about Kopitar goal, @StanFischler asked Weight how he calmed the #Isles down before OT: "Me? I’m still not calm. I didn’t calm anybody down."

Editorial: Three Terrible Trade Ideas
Trade speculation is incredibly popular. We all like to think of who the New York Islanders could go out and acquire. But when the script flips and writers are making a suggestion on who the Isles should send packing it stops being fun or sometimes making any sense.
