The Red Wings impressive playoff streak came to an end last year, and it looks like a new one isn’t starting anytime soon. The Red Wings are fifth in the Atlantic Division with 37 points to their name. 21-year old Dylan Larkin is leading the way for scoring in Detroit.
It’s been an extremely disappointing year for the Oilers this year. After making the playoffs for the first time since 2005-2006 on the back of phenom Connor McDavid the Oilers have come crashing down. They’re in sixth place in their division with only 37 points so far this year.
The Panthers are only in fourth place in the Atlantic, but with how competitive the Metro is there’s very little chance of them making the playoffs. Vincent Trocheck, who may or may not have been tripped, is leading the way with scoring with 36 points on the year.
The Flyers have a shocking eight overtime losses already this year. They are in last place in the Metro but are only four points out of a playoff spot. Oh, how fun that Metro Division can be. Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek both have 46 points on the season.
The Avalanche are on their way to missing the playoffs for the fourth year in a row and for the seventh time in the last eight years. Joe Sakic is on a Garth Snow like pace for a rebuild, nice and slow. Nathan McKinnon is the leading scorer with 46 points.
