The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 20 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
The sky is falling in New York Islanders land as the Islanders currently sit outside of a playoff spot at the halfway point in the season.
Mitch and I will be discussing what we’ve seen from the past three games, a look at the next four, and a look at the Islanders abysmal third line.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 20:
Last three games: The Islanders lost three games in a row and it’s full-on panic mode in Isles land. They’re being dominated physically, the team missed Johnny Boychuk, the Corsi numbers are trash and the team is out of a playoff spot.
Next four games: Over the next four games the Isles play against Metro opponents before their break. At minimum, they can go 2-2 anything worse is an epic setback.
Calling up Sound Tigers: Anothny Beauvillier was sent down and Tanner Fritz was called up to the NHL. Sebastian Aho came up to replace the injured Johnny Boychuk and Calvin de Haan.
The Islanders third line, it looks absolutely awful at the moment. What should the Islanders do to fix it? A. Trade Brock, B. Send down Beau (done), C. Call up Ho-Sang, D. Call up Dal Colle, E. Call up Fritz (done). What else can they do?
