New York Islanders Recall Anthony Beauvillier From AHL

NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 01: Anthony Beauvillier

After Josh Bailey left Friday nights game with a lower-body injury, it was just a matter of time before the New York Islanders went back down to the AHL to replenish his spot. They did on so on Saturday, bringing back Anthony Beauvillier.

The New York Islanders sent down Anthony Beauvillier to the AHL just a few days ago in an attempt to shake up the Isles struggling third line. And now, after playing two games with the Sound Tigers, he’s back with the Islanders.

On Saturday, the New York Islanders recalled Anthony Beauvillier on an emergency basis. Likely to fill the hole on the roster left by Josh Bailey.

The Islanders would have liked to have Beauvillier stick in the AHL for a little while longer, but with Bailey out, and maybe even Ladd and Pulock, they need to bring some bodies up.

And in Beauvillier their bringing in a warm one at least.

Something To Prove

After being sent down earlier in the week, Beauvillier made the best of his time in Bridgeport. In only his second appearance for the Sound Tigers, Beauvilier connected with Josh Ho-Sang to score after just nine seconds.

Beau would add a second in the same game. With only seconds left on the clock in regulation, the puck would come to him at the top of the faceoff circle and he’d bury it to push the game to overtime.

Last season stepped in the right direction for Beauvillier. He made the team right out of camp and put up 24 points in that season. Being sent to the AHL is a step backwards, one that Beau will soon have a chance to correct.

Next: Tavares Isn't The Problem

Hopefully, Beauvillier makes the best of it. That he comes back into the Islanders team and is the spark this third line needed.
