Option 1: Chris Lamoriello

Chris Lamoriello is the son of legendary Devils General Manager Lou Lamoriello. Lou is currently turning around the Toronto Maple Leafs after winning three Stanley Cups along the way with New Jersey.

Chris currently serves as the Islanders Assistant General Manager. A simple promotion from Assistant to full General Manager seems like a possibility.

Before joining the Islanders Chris was with his father in the Devils organization.  In 1996-96 he joined the Devils in the scouring department. After that, he became the General Manager of the AHL affiliate Albany Devils.

He stayed with the Albany Devils from 2001-2015. He was a part of the organization during two Stanley Cups, which I’m sure will be important to many fans.

At 46 years old you’d think he’d be due for a chance at the NHL level. Plus, we’d be lying to say his last name doesn’t give him a little bit of a boost. If he’s half the General Manager his dad is the Islanders will be in good shape.

Maybe the Islanders would have their own facial hair and hairstyle rules like Lou instilled in Jersey and Toronto.
