Mathew Dumba | Minnesota Wild

Contract: $2.733 million/3 years, Production: 10pts/53 games, Slot: Top-Four
Why We Want Him
At 23 years old Mathew Dumba has already established himself as a legit defenseman in this league. He’s a young kid who is a scoring threat with that right-handed shot of his.

Already this year he has 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) in 54 games played. He seems to be growing and taking the proper steps in development which is also a good sign.

Adding him to the mix with Johnny Boychuk and Ryan Pulock as the other right-handed shots would complete a pretty sweet right-handed defensive core.

Why We Don’t Want Him
The price. Minnesota, who is the second wild card team at the moment in the West will have to get a lot for him if they’re going to deal him.

Would you be willing to part ways with top prospects, high draft picks and possibly more? That’s a question you’d have to ask yourself if you were Garth Snow in this position.

The Wild supposedly got quality offers for him this past summer. If Garth blows them away, maybe they’d have to pull the trigger, although it’d be tough to see them give up on this kid.
