New York Islanders: “No Rentals” 2018 Trade Deadline Proposals List

Arizona
In this scenario the New York Islanders are buyers. Arizona needs everything, so draft picks and prospects are the keys to their future.
Antti Raanta, G- Age,28. Height, 6-0. Weight, 190. Catches-Left.
Contract- $1 million. UFA after 17/18.
17/18 Stats- .921 SV%, 2.53 GAA, 36 games.
Raanta played second fiddle to King Henry for a while but now he’s starting in the desert. Arizona lets up a lot of chances, but Raanta still has a .920 save %. He’s becoming a starting goaltender, and the Islanders don’t have one of those.
Christian Fischer, RW- Age,20. Height, 6-2. Weight, 214. Shoots- Right.
Contract- $821,66. RFA after 19/20.
17/18 Stats- 13 goals, 15 assists, 71 hits, 57 games, 14:48 ATOI.
Picked 32nd overall in 2015, Fischer is a big boy who plays a power-forward game style. He performed well in the AHL and Arizona has shown him some PP time. The big kid shows a scoring knack and room to grow.
For Raanta…
Thomas Greiss– His career numbers are much better than he’s posting lately, maybe he needs a fresh start. The Coyotes trade down here, but Greiss should rebound.
2018 2nd and 4th round picks
Condition- if Raanta re-signs with the Islanders the 2nd round pick becomes a 1st round pick.
For Fischer…
Josh Ho-Sang– On talent alone the Coyotes trade up, but Ho-Sang’s playing style doesn’t match the Islanders needs; maybe Fischer is a better fit.
2018 5th round pick
Arizona could go for it if they value Ho-Sang. The picks should tantalize them as well. This way Garth isn’t giving away a first for a rental.
Lineup
Lee-Tavares-Bailey, Beauvillier-Barzal-Eberle, Ladd-Nelson-Fischer, Johnston-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Ranta would start, though Halak has looked stronger of late, dragging his SV% up to a respectable .911.
