Salary Cap and Lineup

With my 10 step plan now all spelled out I wanted to take a look at what my 2018-2019 lineup would look like and the cap numbers we would be working with. It’s important to remember the salary eaten from Cal Clutterbuck and Andrew Ladd in this model.

Also, keep in mind we are using $80 million as the projected cap number for next year:

(Numbers in italics are projections and/or representative to the contract offers in this theory)

Fowards: $40,295,833

Defense: $25,180,000

Goalies: $5,183,333

Buyout/Retained Salary Total: $2,941,667

TOTAL: $73,564,833

This leaves nearly $6.5 million in cap space which you can use to fill out the rest of the roster and or save to give extensions to Jordan Eberle, Anders Lee, Justin Faulk, Mathew Barzal, etc.
