(1) Belmont Arena v. (4) Josh Ho-Sang

There’s no way Josh Ho-Sang was ever going to win this vote was there? I understand both his career and Belmont represent the future of this franchise. But that future is heavily skewed in favour of Belmont is it not?

Yup. With 75% of the vote, fans felt like Belmont was the bigger storyline for the season. And that makes sense. After all, when Josh Ho-Sang was sent down to the AHL the Governor of New York wasn’t at the press conference was he?

That’s how big the Belmont announcement was for the New York Islanders. OK. He wasn’t there simply to celebrate the Islanders. Belmont represents a multi-million dollar investment in his constituency.

Winning the bid for Belmont sets up the New York Islanders on Long Island for years to come. The economic stability is something this team hasn’t had in a dogs age. They could actually be a cap team year-over-year and field a competitive roster to boot.

No more austerity Islanders anymore!
