With the New York Islanders off, the focus was on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers who won last night by a score of 6-2. Even Josh Ho-Sang got in on the action.

Josh Ho-Sang has been a large topic of discussion all year long. Some, myself included, feel that Josh Ho-Sang should’ve been recalled back to the New York Islanders by now. While others think he still needs time.

With the Islanders eliminated one might argue that it wouldn’t hurt to give both he and Michael Dal Colle a shot at the NHL, but nonetheless, they were playing against the Hershey Bears last night in the AHL.

The Sound Tigers won by a score of 6-2 and it featured Ho-Sang’s 13th goal of the season. Josh now has 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 41 games played. Bridgeport has nine games remaining on their schedule.

People can debate all day long whether or not he should be in the NHL, but at least he’s been productive in the AHL again. His current point pace puts him at 52 points over a full 82 game schedule.

Of course, the goal next year is that he gets a roster spot. Let’s hope the Islanders head into next year with an open mind when it comes to the likes of Ho-Sang, Kieffer Bellows, and Devon Toews.

Editorials: Vanek trade linked to Barzal

The path to Mathew Barzal to the New York Islanders all starts with a failed experiment to get John Tavares a winger. It ends with the Edmonton Oilers screwing up.
