The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 36 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

It feels like an eternity already since the New York Islanders played a game and honestly, I think we needed it. It was mentally draining watching the Islanders this year and as much as I love the team it’s nice to get away for a bit.

Just because the Islanders aren’t in action doesn’t mean that we won’t be covering them. We have a lot to chat about on episode 36.

Here’s what you can expect from this week’s episode:

Short Topics

Player Grades

We’ve been grading each player’s performance in the 2017-2018 season. It’s been a fun time so far and we’ll see if Mitch and I are on the same page this week.

Player Development

We’re going to look at AHL development over the past five years and see how they’ve done. Spoiler alert: it’s not great.

Barzal Calder Nomination

With an 85 point season, Mathew Barzal was officially nominated for the Calder Trophy. We’ll go nuts over his season again I’m sure.

Long Topic

In short, it’s trade bait. Who would we like the Islanders to pursue this offseason? There’s a lot to dive into and ideas galore.
