The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 41 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

As the Golden Knights and Capitals continue to battle for the Stanley Cup tonight, Mitch and I will sit down to talk some New York Islanders hockey. Despite the storylines slowing down we still have a lot to talk about on the show today.

On the site, I put into context how bad the goalie tandem really was in 2017-2018 and Mitch came up with some ideas for netminders so we’ll get into that. We’ll get into some hypotheticals and also talk about some players linked to the Islanders now that Lou Lamoriello is here.

Here’s what you can expect from episode 41:

Short Topics

What if Rick DiPietro never got hurt?

Recently, Rick DiPietro blamed himself for the Islanders struggles in net. Would things have been different if DiPietro was healthy his entire career?

Ilya Kovalchuk to the Islanders?

Since Lou Lamoriello once was the General Manager of Ilya Kovalchuk some link him to the Islanders. We’ll get into if that’s feasible for the Islanders.

Will Josh Ho-Sang be traded?

Does bringing Lou Lamoriello in change Ho-Sang’s fate? If he is moved where would the best destination be for Ho-Sang?

Long Topic

The New York Islanders goalie situation was really bad in 2017-2018. We’ll put into context how bad they tandem was and then talk about options for making it better in the future.
