New York Islanders Daily: Oliver Wahlstrom Throws Shade At Rangers

New York Islanders first-round pick Oliver Wahlstrom was a little upset he didn’t go in the top-10. He had some kind words for a team that passed on him.
We’ve covered the NHL Draft at length on this website and definitely talked up how unlikely it was that both Oliver Wahlstrom and Noah Dobson would be there for the taking at 11 and 12 for the New York Islanders.
Wahlstrom was a little upset that he didn’t go in the top-10 of the draft. He actually had some words for a team that passed on him at number nine.
Oliver Wahlstrom on the Rangers not picking him at number nine: "They made a mistake there." #Isles

Yes, Oliver, the Rangers did indeed make a mistake by passing on you, but now you can enjoy the rivalry from the good side. I love this kind of attitude from a player, anytime you can play with a chip on your shoulder I’m on board.
It’s not like Wahlstrom needs any more motivation to produce at the next level. In a combined 88 games in the USDP and USHL last year, Wahlstrom had 70 goals and 139 points. That’s insane.
You can catch Wahlstrom and the rest of the Islanders prospects at the Blue and White Scrimmage on Thursday. This kid is really going to be something special.
