The New York Islanders announced yesterday that they will be playing a prospect game against the Flyers for charity next month.
On September 12, the New York Islanders prospects will square off against the Philadelphia Flyers prospects. The game will take place at the Islanders practice facility at Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow at 6:00 p.m.
You have to pay to get in, but the ticket sales from the website are donated to the Islanders’ Children’s Foundation, so it’s a good cause.
If you missed the minicamp in June, this might be a good time to get out and check out some of the Islanders youth to see what the future of the team will look like. Oliver Wahlstrom stole the show in June, so perhaps it’s someone new, like Kieffer Bellows who will be trying to crack the Islanders roster.
The Isles play the Flyers four times in the preseason, the opener is on September 16 at the Coliseum. They’ll also take on the Flyers in Brooklyn, giving the players some sort of a feel for both ice surfaces, and getting used to home games being played in two arenas.
Go support a good cause and check out some Isles prospects, Kieffer Bellows and Josh Ho-Sang is worth the price of admission.
