With the hockey season approaching fantasy projections are out so let’s see how three of the New York Islanders forwards are projected for 2018-2019.
Fantasy sports is continuing to grow in the US, that’s why it’s important to be prepared and prep for your season seriously. Luckily for us, NHL.com did projections on how the top forwards will do this year including three New York Islanders.
We’ll start with the obvious choice Mathew Barzal. He’s coming off his Calder winning season in which he put up 85 points. NHL.com has him projected for 76. I think he actually increases his point total from last year with more ice time and 82 games with both Anthony Beauvillier and Jordan Eberle.
That’s a perfect segue because Eberle was next on the list with 60 points. That’s a pretty accurate and fair guess. He finished with 59 points last year and has hit the 60 point mark three times in his career.
Lastly, Anders Lee came in with 53 points. It’s a little low but it’s mostly fair. Ultimately I think he ends up in the high 50’s in points, maybe somewhere around 58 (36 goals, 22 assists). NHL.com did leave some guys off this list who may be worthwhile in fantasy though.
Both Josh Bailey and Anthony Beauvillier should finish with over 50 points this year. I’m not saying take either of them early in your draft but these guys both seem like locks to be upwards of 50 points.

EA Sports might not think that any New York Islanders player belongs in the top 50 of the NHL today. But Sportsnet disagrees. Mathew Barzal is in the top 40.
