The New York Islanders have been linked to a trade with both Artemi Panarin and Erik Karlsson. Can the Islanders actually work both trades?

It’s the big news of the week, The Fourth Period is reporting that the New York Islanders have made inquiries with the Columbus Blue Jackets about Artemi Panarin and with the Ottawa Senators about Erik Karlsson.

Artemi Panarin is seemingly doing his best to force a move out of Columbus by refusing to sign an extension. While Erik Karlsson’s situation in Ottawa seems to be less his doing and more about the situation around him deteriorating rapidly.

Is it possible for the Islanders to actually land both stars? Do the Islanders have what it takes in terms of assets to land a point-per-game winger and a perennial Norris favorite in Erik Karlsson?

Matt and Mitch discuss potential trade scenarios as well as the likelihood that either makes their way to the Island.

What Else Do We Talk About?

Lou Lamoriello is now in charge, and with that comes a certain set of rules that some find ridiculous. Lou doesn’t like big numbers, meaning anything over 30 has to go. What does that mean for some players on the team, and who’s already changed their numbers?

The New York Islanders have the worst line in the NHL. The trio of Leo Komarov, Casey Cizikas, and Cal Clutterbuck are rated as the worst. Is that fair? And if so, should we as fans be worried about them potentially being the Isles starting fourth line this season?

Lastly, we answer some of your questions. Such as: Will Kieffer Bellows make the team in 2018-19? Can the Isles keep both Jordan Eberle and Anders Lee?
